Mechanical Engineer

Founded in 1988, CEL focuses its activities on the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of custom installations for aircraft engine testing. Its range of products and services extends from test benches for components (pumps, injectors, etc.) to the delivery of complete installations dedicated to an international market.
Working under the responsibility of the Director of Mechanical Engineering, and within a multidisciplinary team (electrical, software, and project management), the mechanical engineer participates in the various phases of a test equipment design project:
Main responsibilities:

Prepare the specifications based on customer requirements

Develop mechanical operation diagrams (P&ID)
-
Select hydraulic, pneumatic, aerodynamic, and acoustic components
-
Calculate pressure losses and preliminary structure
-
Supervise mechanical design using 2D/3D CAD tools
-
Verify production drawings
-
Write and verify installation, usage, and maintenance instructions
-
Provide support to production, installation, and commissioning teams
-
Design and validate machines and industrial systems
-
Welded steel structures
-
Machine components (motors, shafts, bearings, cylinders, hardware, etc.)
-
Select hydraulic components (pumps, valves, regulators, filters, flow meters, heat exchangers, etc.)
-
Perform risk analysis and machine safety assessments
-
Apply geometric and functional tolerancing (GD&T)
-
Use problem-solving methods (Root Cause Analysis)
Your background and strengths:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
7 to 10 years of relevant machine design experience
-
Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec
-
Proficiency in English due to the high volume of international clients
-
Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor/Vault and Siemens NX (an asset)
