Mechanical Designer

Founded in 1988, CEL focuses on the design, manufacture and commissioning of custom facilities for the testing of aircraft engines. Its range of products and services ranges from test benches for components (pumps, injectors, etc.) to the delivery of complete installations dedicated to an international market.

Would you like to put your passion to good use and join the Mechanical Engineering team as a Mechanical Designer?

Working under the responsibility of the Mechanical Engineering Director, and working within a multidisciplinary team (electrical, software and project management), the mechanical designer participates in the different phases of a test equipment design project:
• Participation in the preparation of the specifications based on the client's requirements
• Preliminary design (3D) from mechanical operations diagrams (P&ID)
• Detailed design (3D) after selection of auxiliary parts and systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, aerodynamic and acoustic)
• Drawing for production
• Writing of installation, use and maintenance instructions
• Support for production, installation and commissioning teams

Your main missions:

  • Competence in mechanical design, especially in mechanically welded steel structures
  • Knowledge of machine components (engines, shafts, bearings, cylinders, hardware, etc.)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic components (pumps, valves, regulators, filters, flow meters, exchangers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, welding.
  • Geometric and Functional Tolerancing (GD&T)

Your background and strengths:

  • DEC or BAC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (an asset)
  • We require knowledge of English due to the high volume of international customers
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor / Vault and Siemens NX (an asset)
  • Attitude to teamwork
  • Rigor with sustained attention to detail
  • Creativity in looking for simple solutions to complex problems
  • Sensitivity to budget and on-time delivery
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Availability to travel abroad (occasional)
  • We require knowledge of English due to the high volume of international clients.
