Electrical designer

Its range of products and services ranges from test benches for components (pumps, injectors, etc.) to the delivery of complete installations dedicated to an international market.

Under the responsibility of the Technical Director, Electrical & Instrumentation, the employee performs a variety of tasks related to the design, supply and deployment of test equipment for the aeronautical industry. As part of a multidisciplinary team, he participates in large-scale projects with the aim of developing solutions adapted to meet customer needs, while ensuring the standardization and quality of processes and products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in all stages of test equipment supply projects
  • Analysis and translation of test requirements into technical specifications (electrical and instrumentation)
  • Verifies the technical feasibility, carries out the analyses and technical studies necessary to achieve the functionalities and performance objectives of the products, while respecting the applicable norms and standards
  • Carries out detailed design and detailed drawings of equipment
  • Selects components according to technical requirements, searches for suppliers, and verifies technical information and supplier quotes
  • Prepares quotes and follows up on work carried out by subcontractors
  • Supports the production department during the manufacture or assembly of equipment
  • Develops test procedures and participates in equipment testing
  • Supports and may participate in installations and problem solving on construction sites
  • Writes technical reports and documentation related to his/her duties
  • May be called upon to provide technical support to customers and the sales department
  • Participates in R&D projects for product development and improvement
  • Respects budgets and deadlines
  • Applies ISO standards and internal quality standards

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or in the process of becoming one
  • 2 years of experience in electrical design in an industrial context (graduates are welcome)
  • Knowledge required:
    • Office software (MS Office)
    • Drawing software (AutoCAD)
    • Instrumentation (temperature, pressure, speed, vibration, etc.)
    • Signal acquisition (analog, digital, frequency, etc.)
    • Low voltage AC and DC electricity (switchgear, distribution, protection, control, etc.)
    • Control and automation (relay logic, programmable logic controllers, fieldbus, etc.)
  • Assets:
    • System engineering and/or test environment
    • Experience in the aviation industry
    • Gas turbine (aircraft engine) operation and operation
    • Electrical equipment norms and standards (CSA, UL, CE)
  • Continually seeks to deepen technical knowledge and skills
  • Availability to travel abroad (occasional)
  • We require knowledge of English due to the high volume of international clients.
